You should all know by now that I like the Alabama Shakes very much. I unfortunately had to miss their show in LA recently, but that doesn’t change the fact that they had my favorite EP of 2011 and I’m very excited for their full LP release this April.

As I’ve said before, frontwoman Brittany Howard’s voice is incredibly powerful and awesome — its been compared to the likes of Tina Turner, Janis Joplin and… Robert Plant. It comes as no surprise, then, that the band would eventually cover a Zeppelin song. And they cover it well. Howard’s voice is just not something to mess with.

They’ve already taken the south by storm and played a sold out show at the Troubadour in LA, next up is an LP on April 10 and a spot on the Sasquatch festival lineup. Check out their cover of “How Many More Times” below.
