Another from Scotland. I guess I’ve just been taking myself through a sort of self guided online musical festival of the northern most section of Great Britain. Most recently Be Like Pablo’s “Without The Pain” has been coming through the speakers. If you ever wondered what Weezer could sound like if someone rapped over Rivers Cuomo singing then this song is for you. And if you haven’t wondered that you probably have now after reading the previous sentence so get with the program. 

Utilizing male and female harmonies over a powerpop guitar the band cites The Beach Boys, Ben Kweller and old Weezer as influences. If they sound or appear a tad nerdy that would be by design as they lean into their studious persona with enthusiasm. 

The band was named after their adventurous Chilean friend Pablo. So to Be Like Pablo is to be adventurous and take take chances and the first step in doing that is probably clicking play on the video below.
