Saw each other on the internet and then I listened to you. _____________________________________________________

We met about a week ago. I was wearing a blue t-shirt and some brown pants. At the moment we came across one another I surfing the internet and paused for a second. You caught my eye from across the page on Crack in The Road with that aged postage stamp appeal. It struck me as nostalgic and something completely new. In a way it reminded me of the famous Robert Johnson photo but maybe I’m just trying to see him in everyone a little too hard these days.
Anyway, when I hit play I heard this half-rapping-half-spoken word drawl. I was put off at first but then something drew me in. I admit, it’s a little creepy but I followed you… to your bandcamp and I noticed that you have collaborated with Spoon and the Gorillaz. Not gonna’ lie, I thought that was pretty cool.
I knew we had a connection almost immediately and as I was making my way to Coachella I thought I would be getting pumped with the sonic care from one of the acts I was excited to see but alas that was not to be. Instead I was simply listening to your free EP Conscience. It was all very surprising.
I don’ know much about you. The internet just tells me that you’re from Jacksonville. What I do know is that you seem to move freely between typical indie-pop to a slow moving hip hop feel and then to instrumentals that remind me of Explosions in the Sky. It’s all very interesting, inviting and entertaining.
If you noticed me listening and, I don’t know, feel the same connection to my writing feel free to email me. Maybe we can chat about your songs and stuff.
